How do I export my data?
Self-service GDPR/CCPA export at Settings → Privacy → Export Data. Returns a ZIP of account, transactions, accounts, net-worth history, AI history, and settings.
Under GDPR Article 15 (EU users), CCPA §1798.100 (California), and equivalent state laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah), you have the right to a copy of your data in a portable format. We honor these requests for all users regardless of location.
Self-service export: open Settings → Privacy → Export Data. We generate a ZIP file containing:
- Your account profile (email, cohort identifiers)
- Your transactions (CSV) — date, merchant, amount, category
- Your accounts (CSV) — institution, account type, current balance
- Your net worth history (JSON)
- Your AI Advisor conversation history (JSON)
- Your goals + settings (JSON)
The export is generated on-demand and delivered as a ZIP download. Expected size: 1-50 MB depending on your history.
Note: the export does not include peer-cohort data (that's aggregated data not specific to you) or third-party data sourced from Plaid (you can request that directly from your bank). The export contains everything about you that Keeping Up stores.
